Hi all
News from the seat adjacent to me in the LEAPS Office is that information about the Personal Tutor posts on the LEAPS Summer School can now be found on the LEAPS website at http://www.leapsonline.org/personal-tutors.html
James says, 'This is an interesting opportunity for those of you who would like to spend their summer supporting a group of 12 school leavers as they prepare to make the transition into higher education. Frankly, we feel this is a more meaningful summer pursuit than a beach holiday, and there's less chance of getting sand between your toes. Almost none, in fact.'
'The Personal Tutor role involves approximately one day and one evening per week, for seven weeks during June and July. It's not formal employment per se, however in the university tradition, there is a small honorarium for each tutor.'
'There are only a limited number of places available therefore we use a formal application process. Appropriately, regular input as a LEAPS volunteer is looked upon very favourably by the recruit panel of Alice and myself. Admittedly that's more of a recruitment table, but you get the drift.'
You'll find full details on our website.
James and Alice are the points of contact for these posts.
