The meeting time is 9.00am at the Reception Room at the McEwan Hall on Bristo Square. To get to the room you will need to go down the side of the hall that is opposite Teviot Union. You then continue onto the Medical quad and it's the first door on your right as you enter the quad. Roy will be on guard outside the hall to point you in the right direction if you get lost! Otherwise please call James on 07803 051228 if you get a bit lost on the day!
We will have short briefing on the format of the event before the school arrives and the the event till finish 12.00 although there will be an opportunity for an earlier escape at 11.15(ish) if you have a lecture, etc. For a summary of the S3 Campus Reporter event please see below;
This is the campus based event where the pupils use hand held video cameras around campus. After the usual ice breaking activity we split the pupils into small teams and set the scene. They are to act as researchers and reporters and will produce a short ‘TV news show’ by the end of the event assisted by you and the LEAPS staff. Each news team has a different ‘angle’ to report on and they use the video camera to record interviews and footage around campus which will be included in the final news show.
After a short break at Potter Row café the pupils return to the base room which is set up like a TV studio – if you use your imagination! The news show is then broadcast with 2 pupils acting as the newsreaders who introduce each clip created by each of the news teams.
