Hope you have enjoyed your holibags and are excited about the new term ahead! I certainly am - so much so that I have rushed out and bought a shiny new pencil case and other essential back to school items! Nice.
As always workshops in schools will be starting at the beginning of November and details of them will be posted here by the end of September.
If you have NOT volunteered for LEAPS before and would like to find out more you really need to attend one of our 'Information and Training Sessions'.
They will take place on the following dates:
Thursday 14 October, Edinburgh Uni, David Hume Tower, Faculty Room North, 5.30-7.30
Monday 18 October, Edinburgh Uni, David Hume Tower, Faculty Room North, 5.30-7.30
Wedneday 20 October, Edinburgh Napier Uni, Merchiston Campus, Room B32, 5.30-7.30
Monday 25 October, Queen Margaret University, room TBC, 5.30-7.30
Tuesday 26 October, Heriot Watt University, room TBC, 5.30-7.30
If you are interested in coming to one of these sessions please email me - claire.aitchison@ed.ac.uk - stating which session is most suitable for you. I will then send you a an information sheet on volunteering opportunities with LEAPS and more detailed information on the training event you are attending.
Please be aware that in order to become a volunteer you need to be in 2nd year or above and studying at a local university. It goes without saying that we welcome undergraduate, postgraduate, international and mature students! All volunteer work with LEAPS is unpaid but looks great on your CV and is a really rewarding thing to do with any spare time you have at uni.
If you have already volunteered for LEAPS there is no need for you to attend another training session this year. You are now a pro!
