.Conference for S6 students (as many volunteers as possible needed!!!)

Venue - Edinburgh University
Our final event of 2008 will be the Conference for S6 Students at Edinburgh University’s George Square Lecture Theatre. This event is open to all student volunteers, irrespective of where you study (in fact we want volunteers from as wide range of subjects and universities as possible.)
The event will see around 250 final year school pupils attending the Conference as delegates, attending short presentations and opting into workshops.
Your role as a volunteer could involve one or more of the following activities:
- delivering our standard ‘Getting by on a budget’ S6 workshop
- talking to pupils about your university interview (if you had one)
- taking part in a quiz that challenges myths about student life
There will also be a question-and-answer session as well the opportunity to mix informally with prospective students and to pass on your experiences.
Refreshments will be provided and as this is our final event before Christmas there’s certain to be chocolate money as payment and other festive cheer. What’s more, we’ll take you for a drink in the student union afterwards.
To take part you ideally need to be available from 9am to midday although if you only available for part of that time, it’s still worth letting us know when you’re free. To sign up for this e-mail you should e-mail Claire - claire.aitchison@ed.ac.uk and tell her in your email;
